End Cyberbullying on DeviantART Petition

17 Feb

DeviantART is a great website for artists to share our art and people who enjoy art can communicate with artists and view art. It has so much wonderful features, enjoyment, and fun to it.

But, unfortunately, due to DevinatART not taking action to reports of cyberbullying, stalking, harassment, polemics, etc. it has become engulfed with bullies, trolls, and stalkers. And these bullies will often times work in groups to harass, spread lies, threaten, and stalk random users. Many of their victims chosen simply because of beliefs, religion, race, or the art they draw.

The bullying can become so hostile at times that hacking accounts, chasing people permanently off the site, or even forcing people to get new accounts to escape their bullies has become all too common. Awful polemics spreading lies, vitriol, and encouraging attacking other users is all too common.

Despite cyberbullies being reported constantly nothing is done. Blocking isn’t enough for many bullies continue to harass by writing polemics, sharing screenshots, and block evading by making new accounts. Some users will make up to 50 new accounts to block evade. And if a report is answered by admins the reply is to only block and ignore. Ignoring doesn’t stop bullies who are obsessed.

Even though the bullying, the polemics, and making up lies goes against deviantART’s Terms of Service, users are still ignored when they make reports. Often times reports are never even viewed.

Facebook and other social media sites have improved their monitoring and reporting system to better handle cyberbullies and respond to situations of bullying, stalking, and harassment. DeviantART has not done that.

What we are asking for is as follows:

DeviantART hires more staff and/or better trains staff to help go through reports of cyberbullying, stalking, and harassment.

That polemics (hate journals), deviations, and statuses created to target, spread rumors, and encouraging mistreatment of other users be removed and not allowed on the site at all.

That screenshots are not to be allowed as deviations if they share private info or private conversations unless both parties consent.

That people who repeatedly break these rules are suspended or removed from the site. A 3 strike rule or something like it put in place to keep repeated offenders from continuing their bullying. That no one is allowed to make more than a certain number of accounts, to keep people from being able to block evade.

That hate groups not be allowed on the site, nor forum posts to harass and bully others.
To fix the reporting system. Make it easy to find and to share where bullying and/or harassment is happening.

For DeviantART to please take cyberbullying and stalking seriously and to make a huge effort in stopping it on their site so everyone can go back to enjoying art and not being bothered by people trying to harm us.

And that deviantART also uses the 2-step verification that Facebook, Google, and other sites now employ to make it harder for other people to access accounts. This will help keep cyberbullies from being able to get into someone’s account if they do not have that person’s phone, even if they guess the correct password.

We, the deviantART community, just ask for deviantART to remove these bullies and better monitor them when they are reported. Too many of us (myself included) have been forced to go to police and even take bullies to court all because deviantART wouldn’t help us with our bullies. And too many users have been chased off the site or harmed themselves from the intense bullying.

Angelo Sotira, and everyone else who helped create and run deviantART, please hear us and help us make your site even better.

Please, listen to your users. We love your site and want to continue using it for years to come. But we can’t continue if we are constantly attacked, stalked, harassed, and mistreated by bullies we want nothing to do with.

As your community of devoted deviants, we all sign this petition to show you we need this done and want to help you achieve this goal of a bully-free deviantART.

Thank you

Inkbunny Journal Entry Deviantart sucks

10 Jan

I founded an Inkbunny Journal talking about Deviantart sucks. The text is the following It really does because it’s nothing more than a cesspool or trolls and hate, nobody can say anything nice anymore this is why I don’t go on deviant art as much anymore cause people are fucking assholes. I prefer Inkbunny because the people here seem so much nicer and civil. Now I know inkbunny might have it’s fair share of trolls and haters too but I don’t seem to have any problems with that so far.

Here are the comments that focus over this understandable reason to dislike the website called Deviantart.

1) That’s why people left FA and DA because of they community and the way they are run. but then you get your die hards who suck DA and FA dick all day they can’t see the forest thru the trees. That’s why I enjoy IB

2) There is a list of bullies who got away with murder who hang out on DA;s home page. They bullied me so hard that the one time I fight back DA banned me the victim after all the crap they threw at me I was the one penalized. Proof DA loves trolls more than actual users

3) I don’t think so. I mean, yeah, FA has trolls and bullies, too. I even stumbled upon them. But from my own experience, DA is just the worst website I have joined. When I started drawing King Julien fanart and uploading it on there people would send me death threats and making fun of me for having a huge crush on an anthro cartoon animal.

4) I agree fuck deviant art, too much drama, nd trolls.

5) I joined DA a while back to see what the place had to offer. I uploaded two pics of my characters. In less than a week I was being abused for no reason. For the first time in my 19 years on the internet, I had to block somebody. Then they came back using an alt account. There are some great artists there, and it’s a shame that they have to put up with that kind of community.

Here are my thoughts over the post and comments. It’s very understandable reason to any website. When the staff members ideas focusing on Bullying, Haters, Hate Speech, other things like this:

In many ways, I like Deviantart it’s just the annoying cons about the website that ruin the website. The most annoying con is about the website not trying it best to listen to people that need their help. The ideas focusing their time on people who deserved be banned like Haters.

Deviantart Unfair Rule and Law

27 Dec
I founded a rule and law gives out this reaction:
Image result for The Simpsons Krusty shocked face

The rule is the following:

Note: There is more about this rule and law. Basically, this one got my attention the most. Summer up the other rules and laws. Over Fiction is the same as real-life.

1) Prohibiting the depiction of minors engaged in sexual conduct. I know what you are thinking. Only comes into play over real-life content. The rule also comes into play over Fiction Content. Because we know this:

Is this:

Overseeing people content removed, censored, links to another website, move to another website, banned, other-things. As someone said: “Not allow drawings of characters in sexual situations based on characters minors (even drawn into an adult version). More if talking about fictional characters! they do not exist! They are not going to offend because they have never existed!.It’s the ideas:  That policy exists because humans have made lots of laws around the world (and in particular about pictures and stories showing sex with humans. Without the humans, there are far fewer problems for us.

Everyone needs understand Fiction and Real Life is not the same-thing. As I said in a blog: I fully understand those reasons for real-life Human content. But if its Fiction Human Content in my mind completely madness. Force the same rules if the content is real-life. If I controlled Deviantart would make content Filter over Fiction content and focus on the real-life. I love the website but just like others. Acceptances and goes on with the madness.

As I said why it’s that E621.net the only one as this: Real images of videos depicting illegal activities is not allowed.

Does not have the ideas: Can’t properly discern what’s okay in Fantasy from what’s okay in reality. Because they can’t discern what’s okay in real life from what’s okay in fiction.

A post strongly agree over Deviantart

23 Aug

I use the website called Deviantart.com for number of reasons. I founded a Tumblr I strongly agree saying those words: “Not allow drawings of characters in sexual situations based on characters minors (even drawn into an adult version). More if talking about fictional characters! they do not exist! They are not going to offend because they have never existed!

My comments: I fully agree with this post almost websites make up just piss people-off. Completely dumb being offended by in the first place. If website all ready have a Filter for 18+. Then why in the world do you feel the need police this type of content in any sharp or form. Not like seeing a character would become something like this. Other websites follow in footsteps. Another website with the same WTF rules and laws. I have covered before a few times. Is the website called furraffinity.net, other websites have this. Honest think this would happened:

Other websites have follow the same ideas. Someone said websites can do whatever want. When was talking Fan-Fiction.net crazy and insane rules and laws just like this. Put this way websites don’t want your traffic. Are thinking up ways scary away people as possible. I like this rant because make senses

Thoughs on DeviantArt Premium Membership

I’m member of the website of Deviantart and this post talking about my thoughts over the Premium version also called pay version.

Here is the stuff get this:

5)Cruise through 400% more deviations per page

6)Get exclusive access to archived content

7) Give your journal more pop with custom skins

8) Engage and track your visitors with extra
widgets and stats

9) Give and get meaningful feedback on your art with CritiqueGain instant

10) Community privilegesAdministrate more than three GroupsAccess exclusive.

11) weekly giveaways

15)Make more money on each sale by setting your own print prices

16) Promote yourself with Portfolio – your own personalized website and art showcase without any dA brandingc

I want said on the side note some feature just are better off free:

1) Change username: You need pay money do that. Sound like a money grab ideas. Maybe got the ideas from Microsoft over that ideas about Xbox Live about changing your name.

2) Schedule and submit multiple deviations at once.  This why YouTube, WordPress, Blogger are better because this option completely free and work better in my book. The reason alot people like me love post there content multiple times, not everytime at onces.

3) archived content are really serious that slimiar the idea’s. Pay for achieve feature for Yahoo groups talk about before.

4) Give your journal more pop with custom skins. I love custom things making look badass, awesome. This very disappointed put a price tag on this.

5) Give and get meaningful feedback on your art with CritiqueGain instant. That great feature for anyone looking people feedback and hoping are not someone love being mean, hateful, insulting there content.
