Did you know Hey Arnold The Movie

18 Jan

1) Scheck’s henchman orders two Bartlett’s in the restaurant, a reference to co-screenwriter and Hey Arnold! (1996) creator Craig Bartlett.

2) Was originally scheduled to air on TV as 3 half hour episodes that would end the Hey Arnold! (1996) cartoon television series.

3) A store sign has the name “Viksten” on it, a reference to co-screenwriter Steve Viksten.

4) After the success of The Rugrats Movie (1998) and Rugrats in Paris: The Movie (2000), Nickelodeon came to an agreement with Hey Arnold! (1996) creator Craig Bartlett for an Arnold theatrical film as well as a TV-movie. The original plan was for the theatrical film to be about Arnold searching for his parents, while the TV-movie, originally titled “Arnold Saves the Neighborhood”, was about Arnold saving his neighborhood from being torn down. Problems with the script kept the theatrical movie on hold for a number of years, and Nickelodeon, wanting an Arnold movie in theaters before the show lost its popularity, had “Arnold Saves the Neighborhood” converted into this film. However, a poor showing at the box office, along with Craig Bartlett leaving Nickelodeon for Cartoon Network, means that the original movie probably will never be made.

5) The “sneeze” sound effect in the Nickelodeon Studios vignette, was originally featured in the Nintendo 64 video game GoldenEye (1997).

6) The first Nickelodeon animated movie to receive a PG rating.

Continuity

1) When Big Bob throws a model of Arnold’s house in the trash it lying on its back but when it shows it again it is standing up straight.

2) In one scene Grandpa packs up all of Arnold’s stuff, but in the scene when Arnold and Gerald have a sleepover all of Arnold’s
stuff is suddenly back in his room.

3) There’s a scene where Arnold is talking about saving the neighborhood, while Helga is on the roof of a building talking to herself. Arnold is in the street, and there’s a man in a white tank top standing in front of him. In another shot, the man is standing behind Arnold, and Helga shoots a plunger at his head. Then in the next shot, the man is back in front of Arnold and his head doesn’t have the plunger on it any more.
