Number of Games online services are now dead

3 Jul

Electronic Arts games shutting down a total of: over 30 games the reason being that GameSpy.com closed there doors. EA comments are the following: Unfortunately, due to technical challenges and concerns about the player experience, we do not have a solution at this time. Online services for EA games on the GameSpy platform will be closed down at the end of June.

Electronic Arts more comments are: We know some of these games are still fan favorites, including Battlefield 2, Battlefield 1942, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and Command & Conquer games. We are still investigating community-supported options to preserve online functionality for these titles, such as multiplayer. Significant technical hurdles remain, and at this time we don’t have anything to announce.”

Other companies affected by the May 31 GameSpy shutdown, like 2K and Rockstar, have said which games they’re transitioning to a different solution and which will go offline.

EA, Rockstar, other companies are not thinking about the ideas of PCs could host a private server for these games. The problems about this ideas: the company is greedy, terrible.

There is something called: ReSpy.net where is a network service that emulates some features of what the GameSpy server does that is going offline, and emulates for the games that are ReSPY supported, what GameSpy did before. Truly showing that Gamers care more about keep there favorite games then company self.

EA never thought the ideas give people the services flies for all the games. I found a comment on the article said: EA are trying to recover the multiplayer feature of some of the games – which might mean reprogramming and patching old games, quite a huge task if they go through with it. So for those hating on EA, chill out and try to be a bit more constructive.

I truly think EA was lying: We are still investigating community-supported options to preserve online functionality for these titles, such as multiplayer. Significant technical hurdles remain, and at this time we don’t have anything to announce. Also multiplayer feature of some of the games – which might mean reprogramming and patching old games.

EA Real goal is Saving money by Left there fans in the dark over GameSpy being off-line trying play there favorite game online. I can understand that companies can`t run there
serves forever but less give the fans tool on creating there own services, and other things.

Having the ideas of back-up your online service. Come to mind if there is a problem with the services.

There is the question why people still playing old games in the first-place. The reason why play games because want bring back good memory’s of playing the game, want record post on websites like youtube.com show are fan of this game or series of games, other good reasons. The reason why GameSpy closed there door because there own called Glu Mobile, Inc. a leading global publisher of mobile games for smartphone and tablet devices. Shut down GameSpy so can focus work on there own services.

My reply Screw you Glu Moblie.

My final words R.I.P GameSpy Another victims a-hole owner killing then off
