Did You Know Donkey Kong Country TV-Show

14 Jun

1) The show had a large line of merchandise in Japan including a collectible card game, featuring drawings of characters some that never appeared in the series. The card game was later adapted to be based on Donkey Kong 64.

2) Bluster Kong, Captain Scurvy’s crew, Eddy the Mean Old Yeti, Kong Fu, Inka Dinka Doo, and Polly Roger are the only characters that didn’t originated from the video games.
3) Candy Kong, Dixie Kong and Funky Kong are the only characters that look entirely different from their video game appearances.
4) We never see any of the characters swim in any body of water, but instead we only see certain characters jump into the water off screen with a splash effect.
5) A direct to home video movie was made back in November 9, 1999 titled as “Donkey Kong Country: The Legend of the Crystal Coconut”. However instead of it being an entirely original full length movie it was only four Captain Scurvy episodes edited together. The episodes were recorded in poor chronological order, for example “Ape-Nesia” was presented as the third episode on the tape. While “Booty and the Beast” was the last one on the tape. This created a confusion when “Ape-Nesia” showed a flashback of a clip from “Booty and the Beast”.
6) The series only featured 3 sets of animals: primates, crocodilians and a parrot.

Did You Know Donkey Kong Country 3/3 (SNES Games)

10 Feb

1) This is the first Donkey Kong Country game where an original character (Donkey Kong or Diddy Kong) is unplayable.

2) Donkey Kong Country 3 was one of the last games to be released on the SNES. In fact, it’s release coincided with the release of Super Mario 64 on the Nintendo 64. Occasionally when you go into Wrinkly’s Save Cave you can hear a variation of the castle music from Mario 64.

Crazy Credits

1) When the character credits roll, photos are taken of them in various poses. They walk or run along then the picture flashes and the picture is of them in the last position they were in before the latter occurs. Except for the Bosses and Brothers Bear. Also, Donkey and Diddy Kong did not make it into this section even though they do have cameo appearences.
